Beryl Country House is situated in the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which offers protected habitats, limestone gorges, and spectacular views. It is only one mile from the centre of Wells, which boasts the magnificent Cathedral, Bishops Palace and medieval market square, as well as the Cedars Hall concert venue. The house is set in 13 acres of parkland, with finely manicured lawns, carefully tended borders, a beautiful pool, and a Victorian walled garden. Elegant reception rooms are comfortably furnished with antiques, offering you the chance to relax by warm fires on a cold day, play board games or watch television - find a quiet corner to sit and read a favourite book, and maybe have a drink from the honesty bar. All the guest rooms have views of the gardens or countryside and offer modern facilities. Your arrival will be greeted with warmth and courtesy, and complementary afternoon tea/coffee and cake. Award winning breakfasts are served in the Dining Room, seated on Georgian furniture and surrounded by Cantonese Enamel. Guests can chose a private table or to socialise with others on two large Country House tables.
