The first thing you will notice about the old farmhouse is how secluded it is set in the heart of Northumberland countryside. The bed and breakfast is accessed conveniently at the end of its own 1-mile long lane from the A1 trunk road, 27 miles north of Newcastle and 100 miles south of Edinburgh. Its location means that you will not have far to go to discover the local gardens, woodland and footpaths the area has to offer. Golden Fleece offers guests a choice of three newly decorated and comfortable bedrooms which all come with their own en-suite shower rooms and modern conveniences. The large Master Suite has a super-king size Louis Phillipe wooden bedstead and enjoys magnificent countryside views from two sides. The Twin / Double room and single room (small double) also benefit from great countryside vistas. Each of the rooms has its own practical en-suite shower with matching WC and hand basin. The rooms also feature a flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities with a range of complimentary hot chocolate and biscuits, a hair dryer and radio alarm clock as standard. Downstairs at Golden Fleece, you will find an inviting and spacious guest lounge with wood burning stove ensuring the inside temperature remains toasty no matter how wintery it gets outside. Further afield, Northumberland has much to offer if you are planning a break and to spend a few days in the area. From unspoilt coastline with miles and beaches and cliffs to beautifully preserved castles and country houses, not to mention Hadrian's Wall and Northumberland National Park. We are perfectly situated for visits to the Alnwick Castle and Gardens, the Cragside Estate, the Farne Islands, Holy Island, Craster and Dunstanburgh Castle to name but a few. We are also within a few miles of Eshott Hall and Linden Hall, both popular wedding venues.
