A boutique motel where the arts meet hospitality! The new Harwood Hill was launched in the Winter of 2015 by a foursome of lifelong friends with a love of the arts and a dream of creating a special place filled with both natural and crafted beauty. Our vision preserves the tradition of providing peaceful respite for travelers with the new concept of showcasing the works of local artists and artisans alongside our own collection and the work of our artist-in-residence. At the Harwood Hill, every room is a gallery. We have also forged connections with area museums, our renowned Bennington Potters, and a wide array of galleries and shops to provide opportunities for our guests to explore the local art scene (at a discount!). Relax in one of our swings or hammocks, gather at one of our popular bonfires under the stars, picnic by the grill, or stroll with your friends through the sculpture garden on our lovely grounds in the shadow of Mount Anthony. Or venture out to discover Southern Vermont's many charms and explore its history. Our convenient Historic Route 7A location provides easy access in any direction for antiquing, hiking, golfing, fishing, bicycling, river tubing, or just visiting family and friends. The area is home to many fine restaurants, and one of the best is right next door at The Publyk House, an easy stroll from your room.
